A major water leak has caused flooding in a residential area of Mexico City. A powerful torrent of water, allegedly from a ruptured pipe, flooded the streets of the Torres del Potrero neighborhood in the Álvaro Obregón borough. Residents report that water forcefully entered homes, damaging doors and building structures. The incident was extremely dangerous, as the current was strong enough to sweep away several vehicles. One car was pushed several meters and crashed into a house. At least five homes were damaged by the flood. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and managed to contain the leak. The exact cause of the pipe rupture has not yet been determined, though a failure in the water supply network is not ruled out.
